MUDDY
€14 to park in a muddy field. In October, the facilities are closed, so all you get for your money is a place to park. There's no hard standing available so we had to park on the grass/mud. We nearly got stuck even though we chose one of the less muddy places. This was once a nice municipal campsite, now ruined. Chateaudun will lose customers as it is long walk to the shops and restaurants as we have over the last 10 or more years . There were lots of deep muddy ruts on the camping areas
Hello Alison, Thank you for your review of the Châteaudun service area where you stayed. Not all the network's caravan parks are asphalted. We offer a wide variety of sites, depending on their environment and facilities. During the autumn and winter, we invite you to use de-icing pads for your comfort and peace of mind. If you would like stabilised parking only, a description and photos of the area are available on our website and app. However, I will pass on your comments to the partner on site so that we can see what improvements we can make for your comfort. Lovely site and Town
The lovely grassy, wooded campsite is effectively on a large island as the Loire splits around it. Walk to the picturesque town which is on 2 levels with many quirky flights of steps (and the Chateau) straddling them. Between levels, the ensuing cliff face is hollowed into caves. “Sneaky fishing” seems to be a local pastime with folk leaping out of cars with ready-strung short rods for a quick spot of instant (illegal?) Loire-fishing in the many “water features!”

Lovely site with grass pitches at the side of the river. Very peaceful. Customer service phone line is fantastic, anytime until 23.00 hours someone there to deal kindly with your query. We do like camping carpark for the facilities. The best chemical toilet facilities we have ever come across.

Mooie camperplaats, maar.....
Van 14-16 oktober 2023 stonden we op deze camperplaats. De toegang ging makkelijk, het uitchecken ook. Het terrein is goed verzorgd en dag en nacht rustig. Minpuntjes: de wifi was niet aan de praat te krijgen en de stroom viel op zondagmorgen uit en dat bleef de hele morgen zo.

Nice but shower’s disgusting
Only booked as said showers available went into shower block to find mouldy ceilings bit very nice also mens urinals open to ladies toilets so you get an eyeful if a not very nice view Grassy pitch just don’t use facilities

Un peu de boue en octobre, après toutes ces pluies, ce ne doit pas être là fête car beaucoup d'emplacements en herbes et déjà des embourbements ! Défaut majeur des campings de mon village ! Commerces un peu loin. Accès à la ville et au château vraiment raide. Mieux vaut être jeune et en bonne santé. Sinon propre. Services peu pratiques près de la sortie, ce qui provoque le blocage des véhicules sortants. Pas de WiFi !Prévoir une rallonge électrique conséquente pour certaines places.
